How It Works

Deck stain coverage is lower than interior stain because deck wood is rough and weathered. Semi-transparent stains cover 150-250 sq ft/gal while solid stains cover 200-400 sq ft/gal. Restain decks every 2-3 years. Apply stain to clean, dry wood and avoid direct sunlight during application. Two thin coats are better than one thick coat for penetrating stains.
